Avro FC in the Community is calling on young people aged 11-18 to design powerful posters that raise awareness about hate crime and promote respect and inclusion across our community.
Following a successful funding award, Avro FC in the Community is delighted to be working alongside Oldham Council on an important initiative focused on improving education around hate crime and increasing the confidence to report it – bringing communities together.
As part of this vital work, we’re inviting young creative minds to take ownership of the message by designing eye-catching posters that will educate and inspire thousands of people across our local area.
What is Hate Crime?
Hate crime is any criminal offence which is perceived by the victim or any other person to be motivated by hostility or prejudice based on a person’s race, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or transgender identity. It can take many forms including physical attacks, threats, harassment, damage to property, and online abuse.

Avro FC in the Community invites YOU to use your creativity to stand up against hate crime! We’re looking for powerful, eye-catching poster designs that will educate and inspire our community to choose kindness and respect.
Winning posters will be displayed around the stadium, in local community spaces, shared with partner organisations and online – reaching thousands of people and making a real impact.

How to Enter
- CREATE your poster (use paper, card, paints, markers – get creative!)
- TAKE A PHOTO of your finished design
- EMAIL IT to: Community@avrofc.co.uk
- INCLUDE your Full Name and Age in the email
- KEEP your original poster – you’ll need it if you win!

In addition to the poster competition, Avro FC will be hosting a dedicated Hate Crime Awareness fixture in March, further demonstrating the club’s commitment to tackling this important issue and supporting our community.
