Fuller ‘absolutely delighted’ with Hardcastle appointment

A new era is about to begin at Avro, with Lewis Hardcastle taking over from interim manager and club legend Alex Frost for Saturday’s trip to Ilkeston Town.

Chairman Rob Fuller had this to say about the new appointment:

‘Firstly I would like to place on record my thanks to Mark Pye (chairman) and Neil Reynolds (first team manager) at Warrington Rylands for their professionalism and support in helping make this appointment happen.

‘Lewis was someone who we identified early on as having the potential to become our next manager. He has a great pedigree first as a player, and more recently through the experience which he has gained in assistant manager roles at Atherton Collieries, Macclesfield and Rylands. We felt the time was right for him to take the reins as a number one, and we think he is a perfect fit for Avro Football Club at this stage of our journey.’

‘We are therefore absolutely delighted that Lewis has accepted the opportunity to lead the club, and we are equally pleased to welcome Jack Hindle as part of the new management team.’

‘We have a talented, ambitious squad at Avro, and we believe this appointment gives us an excellent opportunity to build on the progress made in recent seasons and continue moving the club forward.’

‘On behalf of everyone at Avro, I would like to welcome Lewis and Jack to their new roles and wish them every success for the future.’

The new boss had this to say when asked what most excited him about joining the club:

‘It’s a tight knit group and there’s a real togetherness within the club. It’s something that I really want to be a part of and for me it’s a perfect opportunity, a perfect first job.’

The full interview with Lewis and assistant manager Jack Hindle will be out later tonight.
