We are delighted to be able to announce that Kyle Hawley has been selected as the first team Player of the Month for September.
Kyle made his Avro debut as a second half substitute at Chasetown after joining us from New Mills and quickly made an impact, providing the assist from which Jamie Rother volleyed home the only goal of the game.
He scored his first goal the following Saturday to help us overturn a half time deficit against Winterton Rangers, and next capped an outstanding performance at Clitheroe with the equaliser early in the second half to get off the mark in the league.
Two more strong displays at the Vestacare against Stalybridge Celtic and Kidsgrove Athletic, during which he led the line superbly, were enough to secure a worthy success.
Alex Frost had this to say about his centre forward:
‘Kyle has so far been everything that we hoped he would be when we signed him. Aside from his goals, his hold up play is excellent, he is so strong and he also works as hard as anyone when he does not have the ball. He is a smashing lad who has really bought into what we are trying to do here, and he totally deserves this recognition of what has been a very good first month as the club for him.’
Congratulations, Kyle – great to have you on board!
