Louis Potts scored twice as the Ro came from behind to return from their first ever visit to Harrison Park with all three points in a pulsating encounter.
Manager Alex Frost made three changes from the 1-1 draw against Hednesford Town the previous weekend, all in midfield. Jack Anderton started on the right flank, with Bebeto Gomes switching to the left, Jack Morrow returning in the centre of the park and Ethan Kershaw making his full debut.
After Gomes had seen his shot well saved early on, it was the home side who began to take control of proceedings. Grant Shenton made a brave stop to deny Aaron Opoku, but the next time the two came face to face, it was the big striker who came out on top as he slotted home the opening goal of the afternoon.
However, the visitors were undeterred by this setback, and after 26 minutes Potts was on hand to redirect a Matty Crothers shot which was going wide into the corner of the net to draw his side level. By half time Avro were in front, when Gomes crossed from the left and Anderton was on hand to score his first goal for the club.
The young winger had to be withdrawn just after the hour mark because of injury, but his replacement Muis Bibire Bello was to make an immediate impression. First his persistence released Jake Cottrell, who played in Potts for his second of the afternoon, and then his low cross was turned home by Gomes at the far post to make it 4-1.ali
The home side refused to throw in the towel, and after Trickett-Smith and substitute Tom Carr had reduced the deficit, only the crossbar denied them an improbable draw in the dying seconds. But it was not to be, and the Ro hung on to record a hugely impressive triumph.
