Avro host the biggest fixture in their history when we welcome Stalybridge Celtic on Saturday afternoon in The Northern Premier League West Play-Off Final. After a dramatic Semi-Final on Tuesday evening, beating Lower Breck in a penalty shootout, The Ro will take confidence and belief into this tie especially with the advantage of the game being played on home turf at The Vestacare.
Our visitors this afternoon, Stalybridge Celtic arrive on the back of positive form and they themselves will bring confidence and belief into the fixture. Backed by a following of 350, they will be hoping they can finally gain promotion back to The Northern Premier League, a step forward to where they used to be.

Stalybridge Celtic:
Founded in 1909, Stalybridge Celtic play their home games at Bower Fold, a ground in which they have played at since their founding. They provide a rich history with the club playing in the National League North as recently as 2015. After relegation from The Northern Premier League in the 2022-23 season, they have played their football in The Northern Premier League West since. After a couple of positive campaigns, they will have their sights set on promotion this season and, after finishing third in the regular NPL West campaign, they have earnt themselves a spot in the Play-Offs reaching the fina after a victory against Runcorn Linnets. Under the management of Jon Macken, they have stabilised and are now aiming to return back to the leagues they believe they should be playing at.
Head to Head:
With six legaue meetings and one in the FA Trophy these sides have a fair bit of history in recent years and this weekend sees the most important meeting of them all as they face off in the Play-Off Final. This season, both sides have registered a victory each on home soil with Avro claiming a 1-0 victory and Stalybridge Celtic claiming a 2-1 victory in the reverse. With the head-to-head records so tight between the sides, it’s set to be an intriguing battle this weekend with Avro looking to use the home tie in their favour.
