Match Report: Avro 0-3 Bootle

Avro suffered another defeat as playoff-chasing Bootle FC travelled to the Vestacare Stadium and put three past the Ro.

In the 19th minute, the ball is tipped over the Bootle defenceand in-behind for Kyle Hawley. The striker controlled the ball before putting it past the keeper. However, as the ball hit the net, the referee blew for offside, stopping the Ro from opening the scoring.

Nearing the end of the first half, Kyle Hawley once again had an opportunity to put Avro in the lead. Somehow, his shot bounced off both posts but not into the net, meaning the Ro still had to search for the first goal of the match.

Not long into the second half, the ball was played into Avro’s box by Bootle, where it found Duffus, who headed it towards the net. Venners managed to save the ball but was unable to clear it from danger as Lenehan received the rebound and poked it over the line to give the visitors the lead.

In the 77th minute, a long ball is played over the top of the Ro’s back line and met by Edmondson, who beat the keeper, slotting the ball into the back of the net to double the visitors’ lead.

With little to no time left, Bootle managed one last attack. This attack saw the ball crossed into the box to Earl, who met the cross and volleyed the ball, sending it right into the net to make it 3-0 to Bootle and securing the three points for the Merseyside outfit.
