Match Report: Avro 5-3 Stockton Town

Avro secured another three points at the Vestacare Stadium today after defeating Stockton Town 5-3, with Benito Lowe sealing the win late in the game

Not long into the match, Taylor Dyson from 30 yards decided to have a chance from a free-kick. He stepped up and fired the ball into the bottom-left corner to make it 1-0 to the Ro and showing everyone why he is the free-kick taker at the club.

In the 27th minute, Jaedon Faulkner won the ball in the box, dribbled his way into some space and had a shot on goal. The shot looked to have been going straight at the keeper, but a deflection off an Avro defender sent the ball bouncing into the bottom left corner of the net for the equaliser.

Around the 30th minute mark, Harry Salt played a beautiful ball through a gap in the Stockton defence for Benito Lowe, who was now put in a 1-on-1 with Harker. Lowe managed to get around the keeper and tap the ball into the net to make it 2-1 not long after Stockton’s equaliser.

Before half-time, Taylor Dyson was looking for his second goal of the afternoon as he charged down the keeper with the ball at his feet and fired towards the net hoping to score. His shot was saved, but luck was on his side as it ricocheted back out for him to simply chest it into the net to make it 3-1 to the Ro.

In the 53rd minute, Stockton on the left flank whipped the ball into the Avro box and found Cameron Painter, who flicked the ball across the net and into the right-hand side of the net to get a goal back for the visitors.

Around the 60th minute mark, Ethan Kershaw chased down the ball on the right-hand side before crossing it into the box, aiming for the far post. At the far post was Benito Lowe, who won the ball and headed it into the top left corner to make it 4-2 to the Ro.

As the final ten minutes approached, Stockton were still looking for that goal to give themselves a chance to get a point. Then in the 80th minute, substitute Frank Nouble cut inside the box and fired the ball into the bottom right corner to make it 4-3 and gave the visitors some hope of completing the comeback.

However, with two minutes left of normal time, Vilar Robinson fired the ball over the top of the defence and sent Benito Lowe in behind the defence. He charged down the keeper and smashed the ball into the left post, where it bounced into the net to make it 5-3 for the Ro and sealed all three points for Avro at the Vestacare Stadium.
