Avro are back to winning ways after a 3-1 win away from home against Shifnal Town
Only eight minutes into the match, Darrhyl Mason and Shifnal keeper Wycherley both attempted to claim the ball in the air, with the first one to reach it and winning it surprisingly being Darrhyl Mason. The Avro striker played the ball back into an open area, where Taylor Dyson was waiting to pounce. Dyson then volleyed it into the back of the net to put the Ro in the lead early on.
In the 14th minute, Harry Salt found himself in a 1-on-1 situation with the Shifnal keeper. He worked the ball around the keeper and believed he made it 2-0 to the Ro after his shot was going straight towards the net. Somehow, his shot hit the post and bounced away from the net before being cleared away by the Shifnal defence.
Just before the referee blew for half-time, the Ro had themselves a set piece. Adam Owen stepped up and sent the ball into the box, where Darrhyl Mason managed to stick his foot out and narrowly redirect the ball back on target. Luckily, for the Avro striker, his narrow touch sent the ball into the bottom corner, doubling the lead.
In the 66th minute, a well-placed corner ball finds the captain, Jack Kenny, who beats his man in the air to send a shot flying towards the net. Unfortunately, for the captain, his shot had just a bit too much power on it as it went over the bar.
Four minutes later, Ryley Smith was dragged down just outside the box and won the Ro a free kick in a dangerous area. For the free kick, Taylor Dyson stepped up and calmly sent the ball flying towards Shifnal’s right-hand side of the net, completely sending the keeper the wrong way and making the scoreline 3-0.
However, not long after making it 3-0, Shifnal managed to catch the Ro lacking. Lewis Jarman snuck his way into the back line, having a shot on goal, and despite his initial shot being saved, he would eventually slam the ball into the back of the net to get a consolation goal.
