Monday sees Avro travel to Runcorn Town, looking to do the double over the Cheshire side who we beat 3-0 at The Vestacare Stadium back in October.
Three points for us would be massive, as we are still within striking distance of the promotion places as we approach the business end of the season.
Runcorn Town
Runcorn sit 20th in the NWCFL Premier Division table, 4 points from safety and only basement boys Litherland REMYCA are keeping them off the foot of the table. They’re in poor form, having only won 1 out of their last 6, drawing 1 and losing the rest.
It’s been a long season for Runcorn, as they’ve only been able to pick up wins against fellow strugglers and have been on the end of a few thumpings, including a 6-1 loss to Barnoldswick Town in the FA Cup, a 4-1 loss to Division 1 North side Pilkington in the FA Vase, and 4-1 battering by Congleton during their last game.
The Managers
Town have been managed by Niall McGuinness & Aden Shannon since October 2021. Their tenure so far has seen them win just 1 game from 10, a 4-2 win over Charnock Richard. They have drawn three and lost the other six games.
Niall McGuinness has previously managed a number of teams in the Welsh pyramid, including Rhyl, Flint Town United, and a brief spell at Cefn Druids. Aden Shannon began his managerial career at Conwy Borough, and has held the roles of First Team manager and Head Coach at Flint Town United.
