Avro FC In The Community are delighted to announce that we will soon be offering Soccercise classes at the Vestacare Stadium.
Soccercise is an instructor-led aerobic exercise or circuit class using a football and is aimed at ladies of all levels of fitness – even if you are a complete beginner! The programme focused at females aged 30 and above will combine a variety of fitness exercises with football to create a fun way to stay active.
Head of Girls Football and Community Development Manager Paul Bennett welcomed the development. ‘The expansion of our girls football provision means that we feel this is the ideal time to pilot Soccercise at our football club. I love the fact that classes are adaptable for each individual, with each exercise having easier and harder alternatives. This allows friends and family to take part in the same classes, rather than being grouped separately according to their fitness levels.’
‘I have spoken to people who have taken part in classes at other venues, and they have all said that it is a great way to get exercise into your day. They also felt that there was no real sense of competitiveness, which they really liked; everyone supported each other and there was far more emphasis on just trying to get better each week rather than striving to be the best.’
‘I think it is bound to feel like a bit of a scary challenge for women who have never done anything like it before, but I am very confident that we have a great instructor who will really bring the sessions to life and make them enjoyable. I am excited to see how it is going to work out!’
The programme kicks off at The Vestacare Stadium on Monday 13 June, and it will continue to run each week from 7-8pm.
You can take part in the programme by booking online, with limited spaces available, and it is just £2 per week, with funds being reinvested into the group for socialising events.
