Benito Lowe’s 96th minute equaliser was enough to rescue a point for the Ro on another thrilling Wednesday night at the Vestacare Stadium.
Manager Grant Shenton made four changes to the starting eleven for what was a sixth game in less than three weeks, with two more to come before the end of August. Leo Thompson and Jacob Holland-Wilkinson both started for the first time in the NPL for the club, whilst Ethan Kershaw made his first start of the season and James Dwyer returned after an absence of twelve months at the heart of the defence.
The home side went in front early on courtesy of another exquisite free kick from Taylor Dyson, but the visitors roared back to lead 2-1 thanks to goals from Weir and Campbell. However, it was 2-2 with less than half an hour on the clock when Holland-Wilkinson hit the post but Harry Salt netted the rebound to make it all square again heading into the interval.
Leek again scored twice in quick succession after the restart through Panter and Griffiths, before a stunning strike from substitute Sam Davidson gave the home side hope again with more than twenty minutes still to play. However, the visitors looked to have done enough to secure the win until Lowe flicked home a cross from Dyson to ensure that the spoils were shared.
