Avro are once again back on the road this afternoon as they travel down to the M60 to face Hyde United at the Project Solar Stadium. The Ro come into this game after a 4-1 win over Workington AFC on Wednesday night.
Since 2018, Hyde United have been playing in the Northern Premier League Premier Division after earning promotion from the NPL Division One North. Last season was one to forget for the Tigers as they finished in 15th place, but sat near and sometimes in the relegation zone for most of the season. Last time out for Hyde, it was a victory in Derby Day as they overcame FC United of Manchester to win 1-0.

Hyde United:
Founded in 1919, Hyde United’s history has comprised many ups and plenty of downs. The Tigers participated as high as the National League, one promotion away from the Football League, but only lasted two years in the division and had one of the worst seasons in the history of Step 1 as they finished last with a total of 10 points. Just a season later, they were relegated back to the Northern Premier League, finishing bottom of the Conference North with 21 points, and things got even worse as they suffered a third relegation, this time to the Northern Premier League Division One North. Fortunately for Hyde, they managed to bounce back up in the 2017/2018 season, finishing in third place and gaining automatic promotion due to multiple lateral changes in the Premier Division. Since their return to the NPL Premier Division, The Tigers have sat in the top half of the table most of the time with only two season where they finished outside of it, coming in the 2021/2022 and 2025/2026 season.

Avro and Hyde have faced each other a few times in the past, with the most recent fixture occurring in the Manchester Premier Cup. This match went down to penalties and saw the Tigers progress through in the competition.
