Ahead of our fixture with Lower Breck this evening in our Play-Off Semi-Final, we caught up with Grant Shenton as he provided his thoughts on our NPL West campaign and his mindset heading into the Play-Offs.

Your thoughts on the season as a whole?
- It’s been a positive season overall. The lads have done what I’ve asked in most parts and they have really brave and grown as a group. And from my point of view that’s all I can ask for from them. Our season will only be a success if we have something to show for it. So let’s see how we get on tonight first.
How pleased have you been to hold some of the best defensive/offensive records in the league this season?
- Avro have always been good at the back since I joined and we have always had good records at keeping the ball out of the net. However, we have struggled at the other end. That was my goal this year to increase that. We had the joint most goals scored this year with Vauxhall Motors so I’m happy overall yes.
What is your mindset going into this fixture and is your approach any different to a standard league fixture?
- This is like any other game for me. I know there’s more on the line but it’s still 90 minutes 11v11 so that’s how I treat it and approach it.
