Match Report: Nantwich Town 0-4 Avro

Avro take the title fight to the final day after a dominant display against mid-table Nantwich Town

Not long into the match, the ball was played into the box and won in the air by Darrhyl Mason. The Ro’s number 10 redirected the ball towards the net, but despite being directly in front of the net, he missed his shot and gave away a goal-kick.

In the 16th minute, Adam Owen began a beautiful team play by sending a through ball to Darrhyl Mason. The striker then played the ball to Harry Salt at the near post, who then slotted it past the keeper and into the bottom right corner to make it 1-0 to the Ro.

Just before half-time, Nantwich had their best chance of the day as Byron Harrison won a header at the far post. His shot looked to be going in, but surprisingly, it went over the crossbar and out for a goal-kick.

In the 66th minute, Adam Owen whipped the ball into the box, praying for one of the many Avro players to get on the end of his play. Fortunately, James Simms got on the end of the cross and hit the ball past the Nantwich keeper to make it 2-0.

Around the 75th-minute mark, Darrhyl Mason managed to win the ball away from the hosts’ defence and put himself in a prime position to add a third to the scoreline. However, Mason made it tough for himself as he took his time to have a shot, letting the keeper close him down, but he managed to get the ball around the keeper at the last second and narrowly scored the third goal.

Just a minute after the third goal, Darrhyl Mason, on the left-hand side, found himself in a 1-on-1 situation with the keeper. The on-form striker then put the ball past the keeper with ease to make it 4-0 to the Ro, confirming the win for the Ro. With this victory, Avro take the title charge to the final day of the season.
