Avro return to the Vestacare Stadium tonight for matchday four of the NPL Premier Division season as they welcome Workington AFC. The Ro come into this game after a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Alfreton Town on Saturday.
Since 2023, Workington AFC have been participating in the Northern Premier League Premier Division; however, last season was not one to remember for the Reds as they narrowly avoided relegation from the NPL Premier Division by one singular point. Last time out for Workington, it was a 2-2 draw with Guiseley.

Workington AFC:
Founded in 1921, Workington AFC have been bouncing up and down non-league for the majority of their existence, getting as high as the Conference North, now known as the National League North, and as low as the North West Counties Football League. In 2023/2024, the Reds first season in the NPL Premier Division saw the side finish in 17th place, two places above the relegation zone, but finished 14 points ahead of Bradford P.A., who finished in 19th place. A season later, Workington finished in a comfortable 12th place, ten points above the relegation zone and 17 points away from the playoff places. Unfortunately, last season for the Reds, they returned to the bottom end of the table as they finished in 18th place and narrowly finished above Prescot Cables by one point to stay in the NPL Premier. They now look to change their fortunes from last season by finishing back in the midtable and maybe see themselves in a playoff race.
