Avro have made Jimmy Simms their latest signing as they prepare for a showdown with league leaders Lower Breck tomorrow afternoon at the Vestacare Stadium.
Simms spent two seasons at Hull City and also had loan spells at Buxton as well as Darlington. He then moved on to Wythenshawe before joining Southport at the start of September.
Manager Grant Shenton had this to say about Simms’ arrival:
‘Jimmy is another lad whose profile matches perfectly in terms of age, ability and attitude with the type of player that we are trying to bring into the club. As with Isaac last week, he knows some of the lads already and that can be a real advantage when you are bringing someone in mid season.
‘Kyle’s injury on Wednesday night meant that it was something which I wanted to happen quickly to strengthen that area of the pitch, and although Jimmy is a different type of player, he is certainly going to add some real quality to our attacking play.’
Welcome to the Ro, Jimmy!
